"The inspiration for my work is drawn from the world around me - my garden, the landscape, bush, forest and the creatures that inhabit them."
Judith’s favourite artist is John Drawbridge. She loves his use of colour and the freedom he has in his work who, like Judith, didn't limit himself to just one form of artistic style.
Award winning artist Judith Prictor is a member of Watercolour New Zealand.
Judith taught the delicate art of painting with watercolours in a half-day beginners workshop at Rotorua Museum on Sunday 17 February 2013 in which participants learnt basic watercolour skills and were shown how to prepare and mix colours, as well as a range of techniques to create beautiful watercolour paintings. Judith worked with each of the participants to enable them to develop their own individual style.
Judith’s watercolour “Save Denniston Plateau” was exhibited at the “Watercolours at Pataka” Exhibition from 29 May to 15 June 2014 in Pataka Museum’s Bottle Creek Gallery, Porirua, among the works of some of New Zealand’s best known watercolour artists, members of Watercolour New Zealand.
A watercolour artist, Judith also makes items from felted wool and does basket making. She sells her artwork at local Art & Craft markets. She has a gallery in her back garden at 1 Rika Place, Kawaha Point, Rotorua, which is open by appointment – Phone (07) 347 6391.
