Extra 'Acrylic Diversions for Watercolour Artists'

Sunday, 8th September
We are fortunate that well-known Wellington artist, Morag Stokes, has kindly offered to lead a special morning talk/demonstration as in introduction to a workshop she has set up. Morag is a Certified Artist Educator with GOLDEN Artist Colors Ltd. I have attended one of these workshops and thoroughly enjoyed it, loved exploring the mediums and how the new mediums and techniques brought me out of my creative shell.

We have especially timed this for the first weekend of the Splash exhibition so that if you are from out of town you can knock off two birds with one tube.
The 1 ½ hours talk/demonstration will draw on volunteers from the audience to sample products and share their first impressions.

What Morag says about her workshop.
'Push the boundaries of your watercolour practice by experimenting with the water media possibilities of cutting edge acrylic products. Expand your tried and tested watercolour techniques by working on a variety of acrylic gels and grounds with pigment rich fluid and airbrush acrylics. Take watercolour beyond paper, to canvas, board and an endless range of surfaces, including synthetic Yupo paper. Add interest to your work with hints of metallic and iridescent colour. Learn about organic and inorganic pigments and how to select what works best for the effects you want. This workshop is ideally suited to people who have experience of watercolour painting and have developed their technique'.

Venue – Hutt Art Society Cnr Myrtle and Huia Streets
When – Sunday morning 8th September
Start time - 10am
Cost $10
